| Thursday September 17th, 1998 was
the official opening day for the Arlanda Aerospace Expo at the Arlanda airport. For many years enthusiasts have worked towards a civil aircraft museum in the Stockholm area. Quite a number of aircraft, engines etcetera have been stored and restored over the years. Thanks to assistance from the Board of Civil Aviation, SAS, SAAB, Rymdbolaget and the Swedish Aviation Historical Society plus a great number of enthusiasts, the museum now has finally been opened. The Arlanda Aerospace Expo has a collection of about 50 aircraft. At present only 15 of them are exposed. They represent a unique collection of aircraft material and the development within the Swedish civil aviation, starting with the pioneers who tested teh theory of human flying, up to the aviation of today. ![]() Homebuilt seaplane "Beda" |
